MURRAYSBURG NEWS - Murraysburg was hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, with 23 more cases recorded in only two weeks.
On 24 July, Murraysburg recorded five Covid-19-related deaths, with 29 positive cases since the outbreak of the pandemic.
Nadia Ferreira, Principal Communications Officer of Western Cape Government Health for the Garden Route and Central Karoo Districts, said on 3 August, Covid-19 positive cases in Murraysburg climbed to 52. The total deaths still stand on five, with 25 recoveries.
The Murraysburg Police Station has reopened after it was closed from 20 to 24 July, due to the positive test results of three employees.
During the same period, a staff member of Huis Spitskop in Murraysburg, died due to Covid-19 complications. Another staff member has tested positive for the virus but has fully recovered.
No more positive cases were recorded at the SAPS or Huis Spitskop.
