Jan Jantjies has lived in his current home in Aberdeen for approximately 50 years without having legal proof of ownership such as a title deed. According to Jan this caused him great concern as he feared his grandchildren might be left stranded if he were to pass away. Today, though, Jan is in possession of his title deed and feels assured that his descendants will have a place to call home after Human Settlements MEC Mvoko handed over 558 title deeds to community members in Aberdeen in the Eastern Cape on 20 July 2018.
